Bio-13 Fingerprint Access

The BIO-13 uses breakthrough high-accuracy biometric finger scanning technology with secure RF communications. The wall unit is designed to visually work with a wide range of entry environments and architectural styles. A key design feature was to mount the scanner within the activation button providing a single finger action for operation and reading. The "button" semantics work as a reminder of how to use.

The scanner position and angle satisfies stringent ergonomic considerations while housing the electronics and battery pack. The BIO-13 provides IP53 rating suitable for external undercover use beside doorways subjected to occasional angled rain. A multi-purpose clear flexible moulding provides water resistance for the electronics, acts as the spring force for the scanning/activation button, a seal around the scanning pad and a seal/lens for the LEDs. Significant attention was paid to developing a layered assembly to simplify manufacturing and quality control checks.
